A PERSONAL MEMORIAL
Alvino Lewis loved life and exploring the world. His professional modeling career included international runway work, Polo and Hanes campaigns, Playboy, and a photo shoot with Halle Berry. You may recognize him from Beyoncé’s “Naughty Girl,” Destiny’s Child’s “Cater 2 U,” Christina Milian’s “Dip It Low,” Kelis’s “Bossy” and its cover artwork, Kelly Rowland’s “Rose Colored Glasses,” or the movie Burlesque.
His strength went beyond what the camera captured. While facing a brain tumor and epilepsy, he continued pursuing his work, traveling, and living fully. That determination and love of adventure inspired A Penny for Your Thoughts.
My husband can no longer make those journeys physically. But when a bottle reaches a new place, I like to imagine a little of his spirit traveling with it. I cannot bring him home, but I can give the love I still carry somewhere to go. Penny is part of how I honor his life and keep his memory moving. — Alanna Lewis
